Driver Bio:

  • When you think drag racing in the South, particularly in Louisiana, you think of Britt, Slate and Larry Cummings. The Cummings name has become synonymous with Stock and Super Stock domination throughout NHRA’s Division 4 - and beyond. There is over 50 national event wins between the three of them, along with more than 75 divisional victories and 5 IHRA World Championships. Slate was recently crowned the division champion in both Stock and Super Stock for the 2012 season; Britt navigated through a stacked Super Comp field to manage a final round appearance at the 2011 U.S. Nationals - NHRA’s biggest stage.

    Along with the perennial on-track success, the Cummings family also understands the business side of sportsman drag racing as they have partnered with some pretty reputable companies in the racing industry. Primary sponsorship comes from Moser Engineering and the team also receives support from Mickey Thompson tires, Auto Meter, Jeff Taylor Racing Engines, Sunset Racecraft and K&N Filters.

    When asked why they chose to have Imagine That Customs paint their competition vehicles Britt replied, “We met Jerron at Rockingham a few years back. We [Larry, Slate and I] had always thought the cars he painted looked great. He asked us to give Imagine That Customs a shot the next time we needed work done.”

    “He has now painted five of our team cars,” explained Cummings. “My favorite part of our paint scheme is the detail. They’re detailed to perfection.”

    The Cummings team looks to make a statement in NHRA competition for the 2013 season as they set their sights on NHRA World Championships in Stock and Super Stock. Britt will also attend a handful of Top Dragster events with the team’s 2011 Phantom Race Cars dragster.
